Who we are?The Coral Sea Outrigger Canoe Club Incorporated was formed by a group of enthusiastic paddlers in 1995 at Magnetic Island. Early in 1998, the Club was relocated to the prime location on the redeveloped Strand. Our canoes are located on the beach near the Rockpool end of the Strand.
We are a diverse group of paddlers, from Juniors to Golden Masters, and from all corners of the globe – including Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Hawaii, France, Asia, Europe and continental Africa. We paddle socially in Townsville, compete regularly in the AOCRA NQ Zone Regatta series (Port Douglas to Gladstone), and have sent teams to national and overseas races, including the Hamilton Island Cup, Savaii Crossing, Takapuna, Norfolk Ocean Challenge and Vaka Eiva in the Cook Islands. New members are always welcome – just drop us a line here, or on our Facebook page or via Instagram, and we’ll tell you the best time to come down for a paddle! |
